Tomball Principal Partners
Parents, business, and civic leaders are invited to serve as a Principal Partner in Tomball ISD on Monday, November 3. This new program allows community leaders to partner with a TISD principal. Tomball ISD’s Chief Academic Officer Dr. Martha Salazar-Zamora explained that the program increases awareness and understanding of the strengths and challenges of schools within the district. “We see this program as a way for the private sector to demonstrate their commitment to ensuring a quality public education for all students,” Salazar-Zamora said.
On the day of the visit, the partners will spend time with the principal, faculty, and students sharing ideas and learning about the school’s day-to-day operations. The guest principal might teach a class, meet with student council members, attend student performances, read to students, shadow the principal, or address a class assembly.
Partners will be matched with an elementary, intermediate, junior high, or high school based on the participant’s area of expertise, interests, and the school’s needs. At the end of the visit, all guest principals will convene with the superintendent of schools and discuss their experiences and potential plans for future involvement with their host school at a luncheon to be held in their honor.
“This is an exciting opportunity for our school district,” Salazar-Zamora said. “We welcome community participation in our schools and we’re looking forward to working with those individuals who would like to serve as a Principal Partner.”
Community members interested in signing up should complete the Principal Partners Application. The deadline to apply is Monday, October 13. All applications should be submitted to the Tomball ISD Curriculum & Instruction Department at 310 S. Cherry Street. Completed applications can also be emailed to email@example.com.
